A Sharia Court of the Kano Hisbah Board has sentenced eight crossdressers to three months in prison and ten lashes each for indecent dresses and dancing like women in public. The Sharia Court had already carried out the public open beatings of the convicts according to Islamic laws at the premises of the Hisbah Board, on Tuesday. The convicts who were dancing at the wedding ceremony of one of their leaders in Kano were said to have been dressed in female outfits, which caught the attention of the public and created an uproar. Embattled Nigerian musician, Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and his associate, Samson Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, have sued Lagos State magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, and the Nigerian Police Force. The duo filed a fundamental rights suit before the Federal High Court in Lagos, to challenge their continued detention over the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. Sam Larry and Naira Marley are demanding N20m damages each from the defendants. In the suit filed through their lawyer, Olalekan Ojo (SAN), they urged the court to declare that their continued detention at the Homicide Section of the Lagos State Police Command, Panti, since October 4, 2023, constituted a violation of their rights. Liverpool midfielder, Luis Diaz’s parents were kidnapped in Colombia after being stopped by gunmen on motorbikes. The 26-year-old Colombian international’s parents were reportedly abducted as they drove to their home. INFORMATION NIGERIA reports that his mother was later rescued but his father remains missing. According to Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro said that Cilenis Marulanda was rescued by police in the city of Barrancas. “In a padlock operation in Barrancas, Luis Diaz’s mother has been rescued, we continue the search for the father,” the President tweeted. The Police in Sapele have reportedly arrested a 26-year-old man identified as Destiny Ogheneovo, for allegedly murdering his girlfriend (Jennifer Aaron) in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State. DSS Releases Former EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa (Video)

The Department of State Service (DSS) Wednesday evening freed Abdulrasheed Bawa, the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). “DSS confirms release of former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, a few hours ago (today 25th October, 2023),” DSS said in a statement. Bawa reunited with his family amid celebration shortly after his release from DSS custody after 134 days in detention. Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, were allegedly detained by students of the Federal College of Forestry, Jericho, Ibadan. According to The Nation, an unidentified source claimed that the EFCC operatives were in the school to arrest suspected internet fraudsters. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday approved the partial waiver of the “No Work, No Pay” order that was instituted against striking members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Recall that the order was instituted following the commencement of the Union’s eight-month industrial action which began on February 14, 2022 and was terminated on October 17, 2022. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved N35,000 wage award for civil servants to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal. FCTA To Shut Illegal Motor Parks Over Rising ‘One-Chance’ Robbery

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has threatened to shut down illegal motor parks operating in Abuja over rising ‘one-chance’ robbery in the city. INFORMATION NIGERIA learnt that robbery and kidnapping in FCT have been reported for weeks and there are claims that criminals pretend as commercial vehicle operators to attack and rob victims.
