The Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, has sentenced Bishop Feyiropo Daniels of I Reign Christian Ministry, to life imprisonment for raping his 25-year-old assistant. In May 2023, the cleric was remanded in court for allegedly raping the woman at his Lekki residence. The church member had told the court that the cleric had sex with her during a prayer session, while speaking in tongues. The cleric was also jailed 3 years for sexually assaulting a 19-year-old member of the church. Justice Rahman Oshodi held that the Pastor should spend the rest of his life at the Kirikiri custodial facility. While stating that the prosecution established the ingredients of the two offences, Oshodi described Daniels as a liar who does not have any regard for truth. “Your offences are grievous. ‘Counterfeit Dano Milk In Circulation’ — NAFDAC Warns Nigerians

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), on Wednesday, cautioned Nigerians about counterfeit Arla Dano 14 grammes sachet full cream milk powder in the market. Mojisola Adeyeye, NAFDAC’s Director-General, via a statement, said investigations by the TG Arla Dairy Product Enterprise company (holder of certificate of registration), revealed that the counterfeited products are displayed openly in the market. According to her , the fake products have batch numbers 7A08016:01 and 8A0306:36 with expiry dates of May 2024 and February 2024, respectively. She added that NAFDAC zonal directors and state coordinators have been directed to conduct surveillance and mop up the counterfeited milk powder across the country. Gunmen Kill Anambra Couple, Dump Corpses In Vehicle Boot

Some yet-to-be-identified gunmen have killed two persons, suspected to be husband and wife and dumped their corpses in a car boot of their vehicle, a Toyota Camry with the registration number: EE-621-EU. The two corpses were seen by passers-by at a lonely place along the Tempo Junction, Umunya axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway in the early hours of Wednesday. It was gathered that the vehicle doors were wide open while the two fresh corpses were dumped inside the boot. Nigerian woman, Amarachi Attamah has revealed that she has been appointed to teach Igbo language at Harvard and Yale, two prestigious US universities. Amarachi posted on Facebook to convey her happiness and her excitement about teaching at Yale and Harvard universities in the upcoming spring semester. According to her, her role at Harvard University will be to support the African Languages Programme (ALP) at the Department of African and African American Studies. Having imparted knowledge in over 45 African languages, the ALP at Harvard is recognised as one of the biggest language programmes globally. EFCC Nabs 24 Suspected Trainee Internet Fraudsters In Uyo

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, arrested no fewer than 24 suspected internet fraudsters, who were allegedly trained for cyber crimes in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State. It was gathered that the suspects were arrested on Monday, at a storey building suspected to be a criminal hideout for training internet fraudsters. INFORMATION NIGERIA reports that some Items recovered from the premises and the suspects include: five exotic cars; 18 laptops; 17 mobile phones and one internet router. In a statement release by the EFCC, through its spokesman, Dele Oyewale, disclosed that the suspects were arrested on Monday,  adding that the all- male suspected fraudsters were arrested in two locations in an intelligence-driven sting operation at D-Line Ewet Housing Estate and Nelson Mandela area both in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. 16 Dead, Four Injured In Kano-Kaduna Road Accident

Sixteen people have reportedly died in a fatal car accident involving a passenger bus along Kano- Zaria expressway. The accident which occurred on Sunday at about 11:30 am left four others seriously injured The bus took off from Kano and was heading to Markudi, Benue State, when it crashed at Taban Sani Junction along the Zaria-Kano expressway. Kabir Nadabo, sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) in Kaduna, confirmed in statement that the driver of the vehicle was over-speeding. According to him, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch. Nadabo said the corpses of the deceased were deposited at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika -Zaria. A 32-year-old man, identified as James Isma’il, has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command, for allegedly killing his colleague during a fight at the Fas Agro Sacks Company, Sharada Ja’in Quarters, in the state, where they work. In a statement issued by the state public relations officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Sunday, disclosed that a distress call was received on January 21, at approximately 8:30 am via the command’s emergency number. The remaining siblings of late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah, kidnapped earlier this month, have regained freedom. Recall that the abductors had given a deadline for the payment of ransom, and failure of the family to meet their demand led to the killing of Nabeeha, daughter of Alhaji Mansoor. Appeal Court Nullifies Election, Sacks NFF Board

An appeal court sitting in Abuja has sacked all members of the present Nigeria Football Federation, NFF board in a recent ruling. In Appeal No: CA/ABJ/CV/1006/2022, a panel, led by Justice Barika, sacked the Nigeria’s football governing board by setting aside and striking out all orders allegedly obtained by deceit on the 29th of September 2022 to conduct the NFF election of September 30th in Benin City, Edo State. The Minister of Defence, Muhammadu Badaru, has urged Nigerians to stop the  payment of ransom to kidnappers and bandits.
