The First female Speaker of Ondo State House of Representatives, Hon Jumoke Akindele Ajulo, has reportedly delivered her first child at 54. Close friends of the former Speaker said she gave birth on Saturday but further details were sketchy as of press time. Itse Sagay, chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), has alleged that Adamawa State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded election, Aishatu Dahiru (Binani) is power thirsty. According to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the conduct of the lawmaker leading to the final declaration of results in the contentious poll, posed a serious threat to the nation’s democracy. Recall that Binani had, on Sunday, April 16, made an acceptance speech in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, shortly after the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Hudu Yunusa Ari, illegally declared her winner before collation of results from the supplementary poll was concluded. Nigeria Prays, an organisation funded by a former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, has given reason for the suspension of a prayer rally meant to usher in governor-elect Alex Otti, in Abia State. Information Nigeria had reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State warned Gowon not to hold the prayer except he apologises to South-Easterners for the role he played during the biafra civil war of 1967 to 1970 . The prayer rally, billed for Sunday, April 23, at the Master’s Vessel Church, Umuahia was expected to attract some dignitaries, top clergymen and women as well as the governor-elect. Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has disclosed clarification on a property he was said to have acquired in the United States of America (USA). Information Nigeria reports that social media went agog when the Minister appeared before a building in the US. But according to a statement via Twitter on Saturday, Keyamo maintained he did not acquire the house with looted funds but with money made from legal practice. The chief spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress campaign council however said he was only trying to bait the horde of those he called sore losers at the last elections with a video of his vacation in “one of my properties abroad” amid a light workout.
